The Black Mount

When I drove to Rannoch Moor, I was half hoping for an overcast dawn. Normally I go hoping for sun and get rain, but this time it worked in my favour.

I used a long exposure to pare the scene down to its component parts, the rocks and the hills. Everything else is smoothed out with the exposure, and the
photograph really benefits from this. My intention was to capture some of the mood of the morning and I really think it worked.
